Welcome

All Hallows by the Tower is an inclusive Christian community worshipping in the oldest church in the City of London.  We have a regular pattern of weekday and Sunday services and an active and friendly congregation.  Open seven days a week, we aim to provide a Christian welcome and inspiration for all who live, work or visit here, and a quiet space for prayer and reflection in the midst of the busyness surrounding us.  We are engaged in a wide range of activities, from education to outreach and social action, and from work with local charities to concerts and exhibitions. We also have links with a number of livery companies and City institutions and seek to serve the business and civic community surrounding us.

If you are planning a visit to London, you are welcome to take a tour of our historic church building. Founded in AD675 and situated next to the Tower of London, All Hallows has played a part in many of the historical events that have shaped life and faith in London and in Britain over the centuries.  In our crypt is a Roman pavement, evidence of city life on this site for the best part of two thousand years.  The church received the bodies of Thomas More, John Fisher and Archbishop Laud after their execution; William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania was baptised here and John Quincy Adams, sixth President of the United States, was married here.  Samuel Pepys watched London burn during the Great Fire from our tower and described it memorably in his diary.  Do come and explore to find out more or see the Visit section of our website for further details.

Whether you are looking for a friendly international church, working in the City, or visiting London, we assure you of a warm welcome and look forward to meeting you.
