The Lectern
The lectern consists of pieces rescued from previous fittings.
The rails are a fine example of what is known as Sussex iron. Their particular design is very English and is repeated in the sword rests of the Lord Mayors of London in other parts of the nave. The work of the rails dates from 1613.
